Do you intend to develop a public museum? Are you keen to promote awareness and cultivate appreciation of Singapore's unique history, art and culture? If so, consider applying for the Approved Museum Status. As an approved museum, you can receive tax-deductible donations of artefacts.

a) What is the Approved Museum Scheme?

The Approved Museum Scheme is a scheme for public museums that are not under the National Heritage Board (NHB) to apply for approved museum status. Donors who make artefact donations to an approved museum are eligible for double tax deduction.

b) Do I qualify as an approved museum under the scheme?

To find out if a public museum qualifies to be an approved museum, please refer to the Guidelines for the Approved Museum Scheme.

c) How do I go about applying for the Approved Museum status?

d) As an approved museum, I would like to apply for double tax deduction for a donor who has made an artefact donation to my museum. What is the procedure?

A donor, whether individual or corporate, who donates an artefact to an approved museum is eligible for double tax deduction. To find out more about tax deduction, click here.
