National Library



The National Library houses an extensive collection of literary and arts works covering a multitude of themes. In tandem with its primary objective of promoting learning, the Library makes available their exhibition/ gallery spaces to external organizations to hold exhibitions (mainly standing panel exhibits) related to their library collections and themes.

  • Level 5: Traces the evolution of the National Library from its inception in 1823, shows the value of the library and how it has create as impact in the lives of Singaporeans, past and present
  • The Singapore Literary Pioneers Gallery
  • Level 11: Commemorates the efforts and literary contributions of pioneer writers and preserves the nation’s literary heritage
  • Thematic Exhibitions
  • Level 7, 8, 9, 10: Covers a myriad of themes from history to popular culture, happening at different times of the year to add to visitors’ experiential learning
